Notes on saving energy
e
Do not install the appliance near a heater or cooker. High
ambient temperatures
increase
energy
consumption
unnecessarily.
e
Make sure that the compressor has an unobstructed air
supply.
e
To lower the rate of ice formation, avoid opening the door
unnecessarily or for prolonged periods.
e
Allow warm food to cool to room temperature before plac-
ing it in the freezer.
Thaw deep-frozen food in the refrigerator section.
e
Before freezing larger quantities of food, select "Super-
frost" for a few hours.
This will lower the temperature of the frozen food inside the
freezer and prevent any subsequent excessive increase in
temperature.
e
Do not exceed the recommended fresh-food freezing
quantity.
e
To speed up the freezing process, pack the food in practi-
cal-sized portions: fruit and vegetable packs not heavier than
1 kg, meat packs up to 2.5 kg.
e
Arrange frozen food in an organized manner and do not
exceed the recommended storage
periods.
e
Check the cause of any faults immediately. In the event of a
power failure, keep the appliance closed. If the freezer is well
stocked, the quality of the food will thus remain unaffected
longer.
