• The RATE switch controls the rate at which the CPU
processes instructions .
• This switch, in any position other than PROCESS,
causes the TEST indicator on the lower console panel
to light.
Customer Use
PROCESS
This position of the switch is used for normal program
processing.
INSTRUCTION STEP
One complete machine language instruction (including all
pending interrupts allowed by the system mask) is exec-
uted for each operation of the START key.
The machine enters the soft-stop state, and the EXE
CPL T indicator is turned on.
Service Use
The remaining position of th is switch is for use by service
personnel and is described in maintenance documentation.
