RECORD CARE . . .
With all of the precision and care that has been employed in the design
and manufacture of this instrument, phonograph reproduction can be no
better than the quality of the phonograph record itself. A record that is
warped, scratched or otherwise damaged or is not free of surface dust
will not provide accurate transfer of the recorded music it contains
.
Give
your high fidelity records all the care that a precision made product
deserves.
When this instrument is not in use, all records should be removed from
the record spindle. If records are permitted to remain on the spindle for
any length of time other than during normal operation of the instrument
they may become warped.
When storing records they should either be placed in their albums or laid
flat on an even surface. A record should never stand on end unless it is in
an album; otherwise it may warp
.
Most present day records are housed in
a protective envelope and a cardboard album jacket. Records should be
kept in their envelopes when not in use to keep them dust-free and protect
the grooves from scratches and abrasions. Extra protective envelopes
can be purchased from your music dealer
.
Periodically clean your records by gently wlpmg the grooves with a
water-dampened soft lint-free cloth. Also, periodically check and remove
any accumulated dust or lint from around the needle
.

Your new Magnavox Color instrument
has been designed to give long,
dependable operation. All
components operate well within
their ratings, providing a high
safety
factor.
However,
excessive heat can seriously
damage many of the components
in your instrument. Perforations
in the bottom and on the back of
the instrument provide adequate
ventilation to prevent such damage.
When locating the instrument in your
room, avoid warm air outlets or
built-in arrangements which
would restrict airflow in and
around the perforations.
