An additional fader control, installed in
the center console of the car, allows for
distribution of the audio power between
the front and rear speakers.
To adjust the tone characteristic
To set the radio to a "flat" frequency
response, briefly press both tone con­
trols Q
Q
simultaneously.
To produce more bass, press the bass
control only Q . To produce more
treble, press the treble control only 1 3 .
Note:
Repeated pressing of either the bass
or treble control will cause the respec­
tive tone control to alternate between
an increasing and decreasing setting.
To select AM or FM
Press any of the buttons marked E E
through 0 3 to tune the radio to the
FM band.
Press any of the buttons marked 123
through E H to tune the radio to the
AM band.

To tune to a station
Stations can be tuned in by using auto­
matic search, direct frequency dialing,
manual tuning, or by preset push but­
tons. The frequency of the station se­
lected is displayed digitally on the dis­
play panel.
Automatic station search
Switch to the wave band desired by
pressing any of the following buttons:
fo rF M , buttons BI3 through H 3 . for
AM, buttons E l through E H - By press-
ing the automatic station seeker bar
E S S 3 S Q u p w a rd the radio will search
for stations in ascending frequencies,
by pressing down in descending fre­
quencies. The direction of automatic
searching can be reversed by pressing
I in the respective
MI T OMk T l C
direction. In order to arrive at a desired
station faster, the bar has to be held
down in the desired direction.
The radio is programmed to automati­
cally search the entire band in three
sensitivity modes. During its first
sweep, only the most powerful stations
received will be selected and locked in.
During the next sweep, the less power­
ful and during the third cycle, also the
weak stations will be locked in.
If the station seeker bar is activated
within 8 seconds after the radio is
tuned to a station, then the search
operation will be continued at the same
sensitivity level. If 8 seconds are ex­
ceeded, the radio will revert to search­
ing only the most powerful stations.
