    1 Safety precautions Appliance-specific safety precautions • Children under 3 years of age must be kept away unless constantly supervised. • The appliance has a maximum dry load capa- city of 5 kg. • The appliance is only to be used with the re- commended vaporizing medium.
  • Page 9 1 Safety precautions • Textiles that have been cleaned, treated or soaked with flammable chemicals, detergents or solvents (benzene, alcohol, stain remover, oil, turpentine, acetone, paint, wax, etc.). Fire or explosion hazard! Wash materials contain- ing such substances first by hand with water or allow the solvent to evaporate completely.
  • Page 10 1 Safety precautions • If the appliance is installed on a carpeted floor ensure that any ventilation openings on the base of the appliance are not obstructed. • If the appliance is installed in a housing, the ventilation openings are to be kept free of ob- struction.
  • Page 11 1 Safety precautions To minimize the risk of fire in a tumble dryer, the following should be observed: • Oil-affected items can ignite spontaneously, especially when exposed to heat sources such as in a tumble dryer. The items become warm, causing an oxidation reaction in the oil. Oxidation creates heat.

    Disposal Packaging • All packaging materials (cardboard, plastic film (PE) and polystyrene (EPS)) are marked and should, if possible, be collected for recycling and disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.     Using for the first time The appliance can only be operated after standing in the normal oper- ating position for around 2 hours. Where is the identification plate? ► Open the appliance door. – The identification plate is located on the inside of the appliance door at the top (see arrow).

    Your appliance Appliance description The REFRESH-BUTLER uses steam and heat to refresh your clothes and re- duce odours and creases. Additionally, the extra programme hygiene leaves your washing germ free. The extra programme drying allows clothes that are wet from the rain to be dried particularly gently.

    Programme overview Main refreshing programme With the main refresh programme your dry clothes are freed of odours and germs using steam and heat. The main refresh programme has 3 phases: Refreshing The heater heats up the circulating air temperature and the washing is dampened using steam, which accelerates the refreshing of the clothes.

    Extra programme drying In the extra programme drying warm air flows through your hung-up washing. This allows your clothes to be dried particularly gently. The REFRESH-BUTLER dries your clothes irrespective of whether you washed them in the washing machine or by hand or whether you were caught out in the rain.

  • Page 28 5 Programme overview Drying The washing is dried by the heat pump. The drying programme is monitored by a moisture and temperature sensor. As soon as the required level of dry- ness is reached, the «Cool down / Airing» phase starts. Cool down / Airing The heat pump is switched off and the washing continues to be aired until it has cooled down to a temperature.

    6 User settings Descaling Whenever steam is produced, depending on the hardness of the local water supply (i.e. the limescale content of the water), limescale is deposited in the boiler. The appliance automatically detects when descaling is necessary. The time interval between descaling depends on the hardness of the water and frequency of use.
  • Page 35 6 User settings Standard descaling solutions are not suitable as they may contain foam-creating additives or not be effective enough. Using a different descaler could cause: • overfoaming inside the appliance • insufficient descaling of the boiler • damage to the appliance in the worst case.     Updating the software With this function the software can be updated. The new software can either be downloaded from the internet or acquired from V-ZUG Ltd. Starting the programme (see page 29) ► Push the SD card with the latest software into the card slot.

    7 Operating the appliance Refreshing and drying tips Loading tips • Place woollens and other knitted items in the baskets or on the rails at mid- height. • Larger items of clothing can be hung diagonally in the appliance. • Shoes trees can accelerate the drying process for shoes. After drying, allow the shoes to cool down for one hour.

    7 Operating the appliance • We do not recommend treating the following textiles in the REFRESH- BUTLER: real leather, synthetic leather, fur. In the case of leather, for ex- ample, slight changes in the colour, size and appearance can occur when it comes into contact with water and heat.

    11 Technical data 11.3 Automatic energy-saving stand-by The appliance is equipped with automatic energy-saving stand-by to avoid consuming energy unnecessarily.
