ELECTRIC RETRACTORS 1) The following symbols and signage will be used in the Installation Instructions to emphasize safe installation and usage of this product: 2) Some text passages serve a special purpose. These are highlighted as lists and instructional text, i.e. a series of activities. 3) Meaning of directions: If directions are given in the text (in front of, front, behind, rear, right, left), these directions relate to the normal direction of travel of the vehicle.

Any incident such as this can cause severe personal injury or death, or result in property damage. 2) The product must be installed and repaired/modified by AMF-Bruns of America or an authorized dealer. 3) Read entire manual before using your product.

All systems require a second switch that de-energizes the relay, removing voltage to the Electric Retractors. In addition to these manual controls, the Electric Retractor installation shall be equipped with fail-safes that help to prevent them from being released while the vehicle is moving.

3) Position the wheelchair at the bottom of the ramp straight on and apply the wheelchair brake so that it is secure while attaching the Electric Retractor hooks / loops. 4) Turn on power to the Electric Retractors. This will unlock them and allow the webbing to be pulled out.

2) Open the access door and position ramp. 3) Release and remove the occupant restraints and place them in AMF-Bruns storage pouch (Part #: 10019363) so that they do not create a tripping hazard or get damaged.

3) Disengage the wheelchair or mobility aid brake, but DO NOT allow the wheelchair or mobility aid to roll forward at all. 4) Take hold of the Electric Retractor hook and webbing to ensure that the webbing is not retracted back into the housing.

Continue with the unloading of the wheelchair as trained. NOTE: If webbing is cut, call AMF-Bruns to replace the Electric Retractors (which is required) and order a belt cutter (Part #100207240) should you need to cut the webbing again.

ELECTRIC RETRACTORS • Always keep tie-downs and belts clean and off the floor by using AMF-Bruns storage pouch. Part #: 10019363. One storage device per wheelchair location is recommended. • All systems and components should be regularly inspected, cleaned and maintained.
