6 FIRST START-UP

6.1 First start-up
The elect rical prot ect ion syst em must undergo a funct ional t est before t he appliance is put int o operat ion.
The appliance must be inst alled and/ or inspect ed by qualified st aff, w ho w ill st art it up for t he first t ime
and provide t he relevant operat ing inst ruct ions.

6.2 Preparing for use ( Important )

The rinse aid dispenser is fit t ed on all models, t he det ergent dispenser only on some.
If both dispensers are present put t he ext ernal det ergent and rinse aid cont ainers in place and insert t he
respect ive int ake hoses on t he rear of t he appliance int o t hem. Red hose: det ergent , blue hose: rinse aid.
Whenever t he t ype of det ergent or rinse aid is changed, it is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL t o flush out t he
perist alt ic pumps by placing t he ext ernal int ake pipes in w at er for a few cycles. Alw ays use only product s
specifically recommended for use in a professional dishw asher. Failure t o comply w it h t his
recommendat ion leads t o forfeiture of the warranty ent it lement on t he appliance's w at er system.
Replacement of t he internal tube of t he det ergent and rinse aid perist alt ic pum ps is recommended every
12 months or 15.000 wash cycles , by t he Aft er-Sales Service.

6.3 Using the water softener (on models with this feature only)

The quant it y of lime in t he w at er (w hich indicat es it s hardness) causes w hit ish marks
on dry dishes and dishes also t end t o lose t heir shine over t ime. The dishw asher is
equipped w it h an aut omat ic w at er soft ener w hich removes t he subst ances t hat
cause hardness from t he w at er w it h t he aid of regenerat ing salt .
The first t ime t he dishw asher is used, a lit re of w at er must be poured int o t he t ank
w it h t he salt . Whenever t he t ank is filled, alw ays t ake care t o ensure t hat t he cap is
firm ly closed. The mixt ure of w at er and det ergent must not get int o t he salt t ank, as
t his w ould impair operat ion of t he regenerat ion syst em. In t his case w arrant y cover
w ill be forfeit ed.
Before insert ing t he hoses int o t he cont ainers, fit t he w eight s (needed t o ensure
t hat t hey alw ays draw in liquid from t he bot t oms of t he cont ainers) and t he filt ers
ont o t heir ends as show n. If t he det ergent dispenser is not fact ory-fit t ed, it can be
ret rofit t ed aft er ordering t he relat ive kit .
