AC Drive Motor with Internal Fan
Removal
1.
2.
Power off.
DANGER
Capacitor discharge voltage might be present at the
socket when the AC drive motor power cable is
disconnected.
Disconnect the AC drive motor power cable

Remove the AC drive motor belt

High voltage might be present at the capacitor terminals.

Remove the two insulator caps Dfrom the capacitor
terminals.

Discharge the capacitor by jumpering its terminals
with a large-bladed screwdriver.
Remove the AC drive motor leads

from the
capacitor terminals.
Remove the two insulator caps from the AC drive
motor leads.

Loosen the setscrew
D;
then remove the AC drive
motor pulley
D.
Remove the four AC drive motor mounting screws

then remove the AC drive motor.
Replacement
1.
Reinstall the AC drive motor
D
with the four
mounting screws
0
(leave the four screws loose).

Reinstall the AC drive motor pulley
II.
Ensure
that the setscrew
II
is centered on the flat surface
of the motor shaft (leave the setscrew loose).
Move the AC drive motor pulley
D
toward the AC
drive motor until the AC drive motor pulley is in the
casting
II;
then tighten the four AC drive motor
mounting screws
II.
Move the AC drive motor pulley out of the casting
and tighten the setscrew
0
(the allen wrench
should be flush with the casting when you tighten
the setscrew).
Reinstall the AC drive motor leads
II ;
note the cable
numbers to determine which lead goes on which
terminal.
Reinstall the two insulator caps
II
on the
capacitor terminals.
Reinstall the AC drive motor belt
II .'

Reconnect the AC drive motor cable
