    1.2. System Enclosure and Connectivity The enclosure for the FW-300i is a rugged IP67 casing, supplied with a mounting bracket that has vertical tilt capabilities to mount the unit on towers, poles and building side walls. The IP67 casing protects the unit against dust and is capable of withstanding water immersion up to one meter for thirty minutes.

    A. Determine how and where the power source is coming from. B. Decide/determine if the FW-300i unit is going to be powered by AC or DC power source. If you are powering by an AC source, BLiNQ Networks Inc. provides a 10m extension cable along with the FW-300i unit.

    To attach the power supply kit onto FW-300i follow these steps: 1. Place the power supply bracket on the back of the FW-300i unit, in the lower center position. Align the two holes so that they are centered with the holes on the back of the module enclosure.

    Socket Head Screws and Washers Attached 8.3.3. Mounting onto a Wall The swinging bracket has four wall-mounting holes that you can use to mount the FW-300i unit directly onto a wall. For wall installation, please contact BLiNQ Networks Customer Support for more information.

    8.4.1. Grounding and Lightning Protection Ensure that you externally ground the FW-300i system. Two grounding screws with a two-hole lug are provided on the side of the unit enclosure for this purpose. Connect the ground lug to the main ground to safeguard against possible lightning strikes.

Depending on your installation, you may also need the DC Surge Protector pole mounting kit to aid in the installation of the recommended DC surge protection.

    To install the DC lightning/surge protector, follow these general steps: 1. Mount the protection device as close to the FW-300i as possible. Mount the unit with the strain reliefs facing the ground, as shown in Figure 8.31, “Wiring of Lightning/Surge Arrestor”.

FW-300i System Installation Guide Release 1.1 If you are using the BLiNQ AC surge protector, you also need a NEMA 4X-type weatherproof enclosure to complete the installation.  Lightning/surge protectors MUST be grounded to work properly and may only be connected and installed by a qualified electrician.
