TYPE 2 BATTERY HOLDER (see Figure 10 below)
To release the battery from its holder, squeeze the metal clamp that extends above one edge of
the battery. When the battery pops up, lift it out.
TYPE 3 BATTERY HOLDER (see Figure 11 below)
Pull back on the clip that holds the battery in place, and then remove the battery.

POWER SUPPLY

Remove the security clip (see Figure 4 below).
NOTE: The security clip is an optional feature and is not installed on all computers.

Rotate the power supply to its upright position.

Pull the drive cage forward and disconnect the power cables from all of the drives.

Release the power supply cable from the cable retaining clip at the front of the chassis
below the drive cage and from the clip on the side of the chassis in front of the hard drive.

If required, remove the sensor from the power supply by sliding the hood sensor switch
mounted on the power supply toward the outside of the computer and lowering it through
the slot (see Figure 12 below).
NOTE: The hood sensor is an optional feature and is not installed on all computers.

Lift the power supply up and out of the chassis (see Figure 13 below).
POWER SUPPLY PRINTED CIRCUIT ASSEMBLY

Remove all screws that secure the covers to the power supply chassis. Depending on the
power supply, you must remove either two or three separate pieces
(see Figures 14 & 15 below).
NOTE: Power supply screw quantity and location may vary.

Snip the plastic cable clamp that secures the main wires to the power supply chassis
(see Figure 16 below).

Lift the top cover off the power supply. Note that there either may be tabs on the back of
the cover that hinge into the power supply chassis, or tabs on the top of the cover that you
must depress to release the cover.

Remove the back panel. Note that there may be tabs that hinge into the power supply
chassis.

If applicable, remove the side panel.

Using a pair of diagonal cutters (dikes), cut the following wires (see Figure 17 below):
black power connector wire
thick black fan wire (Note: You can unplug this wire instead of cutting it).
main collection of wires – to gain access to the capacitors
