  • Page 8 Remove the top as shown in Section 4. Remove the cover plate and wrench as shown in Section 1. Loosen the cable turnbuckle by first loosening the lock nut, then unfasten the end of the cable attached to the handle. Next remove the other end of the cable from the gas spring lever (Figure 1).
  • Page 9 Remove the base. Place the shelf or drawer pedestal unit on a soft surface such as a blanket. Place another blanket or padding on the top side of the pedestal. Lay the column on the pedestal and remove four bolts (Figure 3). Remove the bottom washer.

  • Page 12 6.2 Replacing sides With the pedestal on its side, loosen (2 or 4, depending on configuration) connector bolts with a 5mm hex drive or wrench. Remove the side (Figure 3). Make sure the washers stay on top of the rods. If this is a two shelf unit, place the new side on the washers and reattach with the connector bolts.
