6. Opening and switching
applications
Multi-tasking is easy with Android because open
applications keep running even when you open a further
application. You do not need to quit an application before
opening another one. Use and switch between several
open applications. Android manages each application,
stopping and starting it as needed, to ensure idle
applications don't consume resources unnecessarily.

To stop using an application:
1 On the home screen, touch the Applications tab
and select Settings> Applications> Manage
applications.
2 Scroll to the chosen application and touch Force
Stop to close it.

Touch and hold the
