Q Which operating systems can be used with the player
A IBM PC/AT or compatible computer preinstalled with one of the following
Windows operating systems:
Windows 2000 Professional (Service Pack 4 or later)/Windows XP Home Edition
(Service Pack 2 or late)/Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 2 or later)/Windows
XP Media Center Edition (Service Pack 2 or later)/Windows XP Media Center
Edition 2004 (Service Pack 2 or later)/Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
(Service Pack 2 or later)/ Windows Vista Home Basic/Windows Vista Home
Premium/Windows Vista Business/Windows Vista Ultimate
Not supported by 64 bit version OS.
Not supported by OSs other than above.
Q An error message appears on the computer when installing
A Make sure the operating system (  Back Cover) of your computer can be used with
the player.
Q The computer does not start automatically when inserting the
supplied CD-ROM
A The install wizard may not start when inserting the CD-ROM, depending on the
computer setting.
In this case, right-click the drive on Windows Explorer to open, and double-click
SetupSS.exe.
The main menu for installing appears.
Q A computer does not recognize the player
A Connect to another USB connector of your computer.
Q Some functions are restricted by software
A When you use the software, log on as an administrator.

Q The player does not work properly
A Refer to "Troubleshooting" of "Operation Guide (PDF file). "
A Reset the player by pressing the RESET button with a
small pin, etc.
All the data (including sample data) and settings you
have stored may be deleted, if you press the RESET
button while any operation is in progress.
Q To initialize (format) the player
A Be sure to format the built-in flash memory using the Menu mode on this player
following the procedure below. (Check all contents before formatting as all data
stored will be erased.)

Press and hold the BACK/HOME button in the stop mode until the Home
menu appears.

Select (Settings) – "Common Settings" – "Format" – "Yes" – "Yes," in
this order.
Press the /// button to select the item, and then press the  button to
confirm. While the memory is being formatted, an animated display appears.
When initialization finishes, "Memory formatted. " appears.
Note
 Do not format the built-in flash memory of the player using Windows Explorer.
