Guidance for Cooling Down by using Flake Ice

After a warming up phase it is recommendable to cool down
in steps. General speaking cooling down phase should take
1/3 more time than warming up phase. Following please find
a suggestion for cooling down steps:
1. Going for a short walk (on fresh air if possible) to pump
blood back to circulation and cool down lungs.
2. Taking a (cold) shower and washing off sweat.
3. Taking out one or two handful flake ice from the storage
bin and start wiping the skin with it. Starting always on
the periphery of body, means legs and arms first, from
foot (hand) to tigh (upper arm). Than follows trunk and
head area. Individual portions of flake ice can be taken
out. One should use as much as flake ice as it feels
good.
For hygienic aspects, neither throw used flake ice back
to storage bin, nor eat uncovered flake ice.
4. Using other cooling down facilities if available : for example
experience shower or cold plunge pool, "Kneipp"-treatments,
swimming in sea.
The order of step 3 and step 4 is interchangeable relating to
ones preference or the way one will feel comfortable with.
5. Taking a warm foot bath.
6. Drinking water ( at the end of treatment).
