Effects of Alternating Hot and Cold Baths

Health care, relaxation and beauty are the main aims of
treatments which are based on the reciprocal action of extreme
temperatures. There are three main methods for warm "bathing":
in hot and dry air (Sauna), in water (for example: whirlpool,
Jacuzzi, Japanese bath, Kneipp-Baden) or in warm and humid
air ( for example: Turkish Bath, Haman or steam bath). In former
times the main issues of such treatments were hygiene aspects
and increasing the body's defences. Today also detoxification,
beauty care and meditation are major points.
Some anatomy aspects:
Humans belong to the category of endothermic (homoeothermic)
creatures. Generally blood heat will be kept constantly inside
trunk, head and vitally important organs. The more distal zones
to this core zone of body are able to handle major variations in
temperature. These distal zones absorb lower or higher
temperatures to avoid variations in temperature in the core zone
of body. Whereas the border between core zone and distal
zones can be flexible depending on the needed adjustment
reaction relating to ambient temperature.
There are two temperature control centre in body: interbrain and
the receptors in skin. Measures of the body against to much
heat are mainly causes by the interbrain. Measures against
1
coldness are mainly causes by the receptors in skin
.
1
"The skin is one major organ of chemical absorption and
excretion. It has been found out that the skin excretes an
amount of toxin equal to the amount excreted in the urine.
