- Page 7 6. Spoon approximately 1 to 2 tablespoons of the filling onto 1 or both slices of bread, leaving a 1/4” border of clean bread. Top with a second slice of bread, buttered side 7. Carefully close the lid. Do not force shut, fold the lid lock over the handle if possible. NOTE: If the sandwich is thick, it may be necessary to hold a spatula (or other non-met- al utensil) in front of the sandwich to prevent the top slice from sliding forward as the lid is closed.
