When an SR35i and RF30-EM have been mounted measures may be needed to
improve the radio signal and/or the quality of the data communication. The router
RF9 is used to strengthen and improve the radio signal.
RF9 works best if mounted high up on a wall so as to avoid absorption of the signal
by human beings.
Avoid having any doors open when testing. Doors absorb and reflect signal.
The installation guide describes the switches and LEDs on RF9. Proceed as fol-
lows:
1.
Place the first RF9 closest to the SR35i.
2.
Configure the RF9 as described in its Installation guide.
3.
Find the best position by moving the RF9 and studying the LEDs, referring to
the RF9 installation guide. Note that only one (1) RF9 at a time, in a seg-
ment, is allowed to be in service mode.
The LEDs indicates the strength of the signal received from the SR35i or
intervening RF9 routers.
4.
Mount the RF9 temporarily and check that each RF30-EM is connected.
5.
Start service mode (audio) on the RF30-EM to be tested.
A falling tone sounding from the RF30-EM indicates the loss of connection.
A rising tone indicates a new connection.
6.
When the final position is found, fix the RF9 and replace the temporary power
source with cable from a permanent power supply.
7.
Progressively install any further RF9 routers until connection is established
with every RF30-EM. If the maximum allowed number of RF9 routers in the
system or in a chain is not sufficient to connect all the RF30-EM Codoors reli-
ably, the system must be rebuilt either with some hard-wired doors or with
more SR35i controllers.
8.
Check that the PC software shows all units communicating.
Regardless of the order in which the doors have been configured, verification
should be sure to check each door using the PC program. This applies especially
to the wireless components.
