4.0 Carrying out Measurements

4.1 Preparation and Safety Measures

Insert Battery
Prior to commissioning the instrument, insert battery. Proceed as follows:
1. Open the battery case cover on the rear of the instrument.
2. Insert battery type 1.5 V IEC LR03/AAA by respecting the polarity and close the casing.
3. Now start your measurement.
The HDT EMF tester measures on a horizontal axis. As a magnetic field is not
considered homogenous, we advice to move the instrument during measurement
around its horizontal and vertical axes. The highest displayed value has to be
considered.
Magnetic, environmental interferences can lead to the display of a value, even
without any measurement being carried out.
