KEY TECHNOLOGY
PROJECTORS 3LCD
3LCD is the core technology inside Sony's
complete range of data projectors. It uses three
high-resolution LCD panels to create superb
picture quality. The 3LCD system works by
using special dichroic mirrors to split white light
into red, green and blue beams. These three
coloured beams are then passed through the
three separate LCD panels. The LCD panels
allow the right amount of each colour through to
make up the correct colour for every pixel in the
image. The red, green and blue beams are then
recombined in a prism before being projected
onto the screen.

PROJECTORS Off and Go
Sony's Off and Go feature lets you pack your
equipment away faster when your presentation
is over. To maximise their life all projector lamps
need to cool down before they are packed
away and usually this means you need to leave
the power connected to allow the fan to keep
running to cool the lamp

The 3LCD system has many benefits:
1)
High native resolution
2)
Natural vibrant colours because all three
primary colours are on the screen all the time
3)
No 'rainbow effect' because the image is
recombined before it hits the screen
4)
Lumen for lumen, 3LCD technology will
deliver brighter, more dynamic colours.
However, Sony's Off and Go feature keeps the
fan running without the power connected, so you
can unplug all the cables and pack everything
else away while the projector lamp cools down.
This is one more example of Sony designing
projectors for your convenience; you do not need
to remember to leave the power connected and
the lamp life is maximised.
To get the best image on the screen for a
presentation, there are a number of adjustments
that need to be made when you are setting up.
At Sony, we have designed our projectors to
make these adjustments for you – automatically.
Here is how:
1)
The lens protector is an integral part of
the projector so it cannot get lost. It opens
automatically when the projector is turned on
and automatically closes when the projector is
turned off.
2)
The height adjustment is powered and
automatically adjusts to the same height as
last time. If that is not appropriate, change it
with the push of a button. This new height
is remembered. The height adjuster retracts
automatically when the projector is turned off.

3)
Digital keystone correction happens
automatically whenever the height is
adjusted, so you always see a properly
squared-up image.
4)
The input is selected automatically. If you are
connected to a different input from last time,
the projector will search for the active input
and display it on screen, saving you from
worrying that something is not working.
5)
Auto Pixel Alignment (APA) automatically
matches the projector's pixel clock and phase
to that of the computer, and also optimises
horizontal size and shift to display the whole
image across the full screen.
6)
Some models also incorporate Automatic
Focus, leaving you with one less thing to
worry about during set up.
