    Installing the battery pack Battery pack Open the battery cover. Open the cover while sliding the OPEN switch in the direction of the arrow. Install the battery pack. Slide the battery eject lever downward and insert the battery pack with the v mark facing toward the battery compartment as illustrated.

    Setting the date and time When you first use your camera, set the date and time. If these are not set, the CLOCK SET screen appears whenever you turn on your camera for recording. Control button Slide the POWER switch downward to turn on the power. The POWER lamp lights up.

    Basic operations Recording still images Still images are recorded in JPEG format. To record still images, slide the POWER switch downward to turn on the power and insert a “Memory Stick.” Set the MODE selector to STILL. Press and hold the shutter button halfway down and check the image.

    Viewing images using a personal computer You can view data recorded with your camera on a personal computer and attach it to e-mail. This section describes the method for installing the USB driver and viewing images on a personal computer.
