To s e e the configuration of a connector's cavities, look up its view number in the Connector
V i e w section that begins on page 2 0 2 . E a c h view includes the color of t h e connector, where
it is located, a n d w h a t it connects to.
U s e the Connector View Section t o help locate the proper cavity w h e n y o u need to test a
connector. It c a n be especially helpful if t h e connector has more than o n e wire of the s a m e
color. A dash s y m b o l (—) indicates that t h e cavity is empty.
Connector views c a n also be used to help diagnose multiple s y m p t o m s in separate circuits
that could b e c a u s e d by a single problem in a connector-shared by those circuits. Here is
how:

Pick o n e of t h e multiple s y m p t o m s a n d look up t h e schematic for that circuit.

Make a list of all the in-line a n d fuse b o x connectors in that schematic (include page
numbers).
3 T h e n , in the Connector View section, look up each connector o n your list to s e e if circuits
related t o t h e other s y m p t o m s run t h r o u g h o n e of t h e m . If they d o , inspect that connector
for the problem.
Example: T h e blower, rear w i n d o w defogger, a n d t h e windshield wiper d o not work. List all
in-line a n d fuse box connectors in the blower controls circuit a n d then check the Connector
View section (sample below). You find that C 3 2 4 is c o m m o n to the rear w i n d o w defogger
circuit a n d wiper/washer circuit, s o y o u inspect C 3 2 4 a n d find the problem: d a m a g e d
terminals.
