you mayneed to use twicethe recommended amountof detergent.

Use of soap in hard water.Switchto a phosphatedetergent,or followsix steps
at bottomof previouspage.
@ Washingtoo longmay resultin increasedsoil deposition. U se shorterwash
timesfor smallerloads.
*Detergentdissolvestoo slowly.Detergentmustbe presentin the wash solution
ai the start of agitation.See Detergent,OtherAdditivessection.
*Torestoregrayedclothes,followone of theseprocedures:
1.Put clothesin washer.Fill withHOTwater.CheckManufacturer's Care
Labelsto determineif hot wateris suitablefor garment.
* Add a non-precipitating typeof watersoftenersuchas Calgonbrandwith
phosphate—use 2%timesas muchas youneed for normalwatersoftening.
e Do not use detergentor soap.,.
* Allowclothesto go throughcompletecycle.

Use water sofienerin placeof soakagentor prewashdetergentand allow
clothesto soakfor about20 minutes.

1.Use extradetergentplusa non-precipitating w ater softenerdissolvedin water
beforeaddingclothes.Use non-chlorine bleach.
2. Havea specialfilteror che~cal feederinstalledin yourhometo removeiron
and manganesefrom water.
3. Run hot waterfor a fewminutesto cleaniron residuebuildupin lines;drain water
heateroccasionally.
4. To remove spo@:Spreadstainedportionoverpan of boilingwaterand
squeezelemonjuice throughstain.Toremoveoverallyellow,use a
commerciallyavailablerust scaleremover,followingpack~geinstructions. I f
porcelaindamagecan occur,do notuse in the washer;use a plasticcontainer.
