Infrared port
When you want to record images in dim light, set the STD/LOW LUX/NIGHTSHOT switch
to LOW LUX. appears, and images will be recorded brighter than if you do not use LOW
LUX.
When you set the STD/LOW LUX/NIGHTSHOT switch to NIGHTSHOT,
you can record images even in total darkness.
Set the STD/LOW LUX/NIGHTSHOT switch to STD when recording in normal ambient
light.
Notes
The NightShot function uses infrared light. Therefore, do not cover the infrared port with your fingers or
other objects.
Remove the conversion lens (sold separately).
Adjust the focus manually ([FOCUS], p. 103) when it is hard to focus automatically.
Do not use the NightShot function in bright places. This may cause a malfunction.

Recording in mirror mode

Open the LCD panel 90 degrees to the camcorder , then rotate it 180 degrees to the lens
side .
Tips
A mirror-image of the subject appears on the LCD screen, but the image will be normal when recorded.
