The option Z=K60 and Z=K62 is intended for special cases in which the current transformers located in the standard breaker - as a result of substantial
harmonics components in the currents flowing through the circuit breaker - are strongly heated up with generated energy for supplying the
electronic trip unit (ETU). With the option Z=K60 and Z=K62 special transformers are installed in the breaker that do not provide any generated
energy for the operation of the electronic trip unit (ETU). This results in the following general conditions for operation of the circuit breaker with
option Z=K60 and Z=K62.
With option Z=K60 and Z=K62, it is imperative that the electronic trip unit (ETU) be supplied with a voltage of 24 V DC via the X8 auxiliary connector.
As only the ETU45B and ETU76B electronic trip units are able to be supplied by an external power supply, only these may be used. The use of ETU15B,
ETU25B or ETU27B is not permitted.
When the special transformers without iron core part are used (option Z=K60 and Z=K62), the protective function of the circuit breaker is not
provided if the external 24 V DC power supply fails.
For this reason it is only permissible to use this special transformer in combination with an undervoltage release (UVR) 24 V... 230 V. The relay
integrated in the circuit breaker with option Z=K60 and Z=K62 disconnects the power supply of the undervoltage release as soon as the 24 V DC is no
longer available to supply the electronic trip unit. If the 24 V DC are missing, the circuit breaker is then opened and protection of the system is thus
maintained. Only instantaneous undervoltage releases are permitted. The rated voltage of the undervoltage release may be between 24 V and 230 V;
380 V undervoltage releases are currently not supported. The wiring and function of the option Z=K60 and Z=K62 shall be checked during the
inspection intervals specified by the customer.
The magnitude of the 24 V DC voltage must be dimensioned appropriately. For ETU operation 2A DC have to be supplied by the source temporarily.
The additional energy required by the relay of 0.1A DC and the undervoltage release must be taken into account. If further modules are also operated
via this power supply their power consumption must also be taken into account (see communication manual).
The option Z=K62 differs from the option Z=K60 by the 24 V connections that are additionally brought out at X8.5 and X8.6. These are used
to be able to back-measure the 24 V DC suppled at X8.3 and X8.4 outside the circuit breaker.
The option Z=F04 (metering function) or option Z=F05 (metering function PLUS) cannot be used in conjunction with option Z=K62,
as X8.5 and X8.6 connections are no longer available for this purpose.
Hazardous voltage. Will cause death or serious injury.
