Test Panel 15.1 Introduction The ePAQ-9405 (“ePAQ”) contains special “test panel” software that the user can access through the front panel USB maintenance port (Port 1, connector J3) or remotely through the Ethernet port (Port 5, connectors J6 or J7).
(1) to four (4) selected 16-point status groups at a time as they are being processed within the ePAQ-9405 Subsystem. Status points displayed can consist of the 12 hardware status point connections at ePAQ terminal blocks TB3A, and TB3B, as well as other status within the overall subsystem.
If you have previously installed the driver, you can skip to the next section. 1) Power up the ePAQ-9405 and wait for the heartbeat (HBT) Led to begin flashing. 2) Connect a USB type A-B cable between the ePAQ and PC.
3) Connect the USB cable from the ePAQ to the PC. 4) Start the PC HyperTerminal program. 5) When prompted for “New Connection” name, use “ePAQ-9405” or similar. 6) When prompted for connection parameters (“Connect To” box display), for “Connect Using:” select the COM port (this will be a new COM port number that was created after the installation of the ePAQ USB driver.) Click on “OK”...
User’s Guide UG-1084 15.4.5 Remote Test Panel Connection (Ethernet Port) Test Panel functions (except for controls) may be accessed remotely through Ethernet Port 5 (J6 or J7) as follows: 1) Create a new HyperTerminal session. 2) When prompted for connection parameters (“Connect To” box display), for “Connect Using:”...
Note that the user prompt line above reads: ePAQ-9405_A> _ The prompt indicates which configuration file is in use. The ePAQ-9405 can contain up to two stored configurations (A and B) for use as backups. Using the test panel SAVE and RESTORE commands, each configuration file can be stored in non- volatile memory, and recalled when needed.
User’s Guide UG-1084 The output shown on the Test Panel display is continuously updated. 15.7 DATE and TIME Commands The “Date” and “Time” commands are used to set the internal clock of the ePAQ to the correct time and date as required.
User’s Guide UG-1084 Example entry: RA 5 2 3 4 1 Example display: +25116 +0136 -12000 +0050 +0246 NOTES Analog points will be displayed as 16-bit values (default). To display points as 12-bit values, type 12bit <enter> before using the RA command.
User’s Guide UG-1084 NOTE If a status group is not responding to interrogation, the word FAIL will be shown instead of the 16 points on that group. Sixteen (16) status points are displayed for each group with the first point (point 0) located at the far right and the last point (point 15) located to the left.
User’s Guide UG-1084 NOTE The display will indicate in decimal format and display the actual count, as sampled (15-bit values). When additional accumulator points are to be examined, press the ENTER key, the accumulator points previously entered will scroll upwards to the next line on the display and all values will be frozen.
User’s Guide UG-1084 Example CN 5 ENTER Result: The function 2 (ON) relay for point number 5 (K11) will operate.* 15.11.2 Off Relay Operation (CF) To operate the function 1 (OFF) relay in a control point, (even numbered relays K2-K16, typically) type CF (space) and the point number of the relay.
User’s Guide UG-1084 15.12.2 PRX Command The Test Panel can be used to track communications on any serial or Ethernet port. Since the output on the display may be difficult to read due to the communication speed, it may be necessary to save the data in a file (recording file), which can be examined later.
To display the version of software residing in the ePAQ, type VER <enter>. Example VER <enter> Display QEI ePAQ-9405 Link:80-013XXX-XXX 3/22/16 Chksum: 6320d4ca 15.15 TP Command This command invokes a software monitor, which is useful in diagnosing different types of problems.
