Error messages

The error messages are displayed on the screen of the Picture MD photo viewer (MPS-V500/V500P).
Check the following list, and the Operating Instructions of the viewer.
Messages Meaning
BUSY The viewer is operating or
internally processing.
DISC FULL There is no space left on the
inserted disc.
PROTECTED The safety tab of the inserted
disc is in the write protection
position.
WRITE ERR Writing on the MD was
unsuccessful.
Data cannot be recorded
correctly.
An MD which cannot be copied*
NO COPY
is inserted.
An MD which cannot be erased*
NO ERASE
is inserted.
The picture or album number is
not selected.
No sound is recorded.
A viewer is not mounted in the
NO PLAYER
PLAYER compartment.
A viewer is not mounted in the
NO RECORDER
RECORDER compartment.
An MD which cannot be
NO REC
recorded* is inserted.
The picture or album number is
not selected.
Sound is already recorded.
The inserted disc already
NO BLANK DISC
contains data.
* MD DATA for playback, Hybrid MD DATA and audio MiniDisc cannot be used for recording, copying and erasing.
Measures
Stop the operation.
Wait until the internal processing finishes.
Replace the MD with another.
"DISC FULL" and "REMAIN TIME: 00:00" may appear
even when the DISC bar on the OPTION screen indicates
a sufficient capacity remaining on the MD. This means
there are many unrecorded fragments on the MD that are
too small to be used for audio recording, due to repeated
recording/erasing cycles. Use another MD.
Remove the MD, slide the safety tab and re-insert.
Try operating again.
Replace the MD with another one which can be copied.
Replace the MD with another one which can be erased.
Select the picture or album number which contains the
sound to be erased.
Select the picture or album number which contains the
sound.
Mount a viewer in the PLAYER compartment.
Mount a viewer in the RECORDER compartment.
Replace the MD with another one which can be recorded.
Select the picture or album number on which you want to
record the sound.
Select the picture or album number which does not
contain the sound.
If you want to re-record, erase the sound which is already
recorded.
When copying is done, the data already contained in the
MD is erased.
Change the MD if necessary.
