With the ProM54 the stainless steel spout can be
removed for cleaning. Hold the spout with the finger
from below and pull it firmly towards you.
The spout is then loose enough from the rails and
can be removed completely. Clean the coffee
residues from the spout and the area around the
antistatic grid with a brush.
After cleaning, carefully reassemble the spout.
To do this, push it back onto the rails in the upper
area and then snap it into the lower area.
5
Remove the grind adjustment ring from the body by pressing down on the adjustment clip and
turning the grind adjustment ring counterclockwise.
6
Carry out the mounting in reverse order.
When reassembling, make sure that the grind adjustment ring is straight and correct on
the thread before screwing it back in place.
If there is coffee residue between the two threads, the grind adjustment ring is difficult
or impossible to screw on.
7
Reconnect the power cord of the grinder.

TIPPS AND TROUBLESHOOTING

Should a bean become stuck in the grinding mechanism, you may fix this yourself as follows:
1
Switch the grinder off (switch in off position). Unplug the power cord.
2
Close the lock slide of the bean hopper.
3
Take off the bean hopper and remove (with the vacuum cleaner) the remaining coffee beans from the
grinding mechanism. Note the current grind setting on the number scale.
4
Loosen the grind adjustment ring by turning it counterclockwise by approx. two full turns.
5
Reconnect the power cord and switch on the grinder. (Do not reach into the grinding mechanism.) The
grinding mechanism operates again.
6
Switch off the grinder again and disconnect the power cord to interrupt the current entry.
7
Now turn back the grind adjustment ring clockwise by approx. two full turns.
8
Reconnect the power cord, switch on the grinder and replace the bean hopper. The grinder is ready for
use again.
In case the coffee shaft of your grinder is plugged due to too fine a grind (depending on temperature,
humidity, fat and oil content of the respective coffee), please take the following steps to resolve the
problem:
1
Switch the grinder off, switch in „off" position. Unplug the power cord.
2
Close the lock slide of the bean hopper, so that no further beans can drop into the grinding area of the
grinder.
3
Take off the coffee spout of the grinder and remove the grounds which have plugged the grid.
4
Note the current grind setting on the number scale. Turn the grind adjustment ring counterclockwise by
approx. two full turns, so the beans remaining in the grinding section can pass through without
resistance.
5
Plug the power chord of the grinder back in and turn on the grinder.
6
Start the grinding process as usual by pressing the contact spring. The remaining coffee grounds should
now come out of the chute easily. Unplug the power cord. Manually clean the entire chute with a suitable
tool again. Activate the grind switch until no further grounds come out. If necessary, manually clean the
spout again. Reassemble the spout.
7
Open the slide bar of the bean hopper.
8
Re-calibrate the grind setting with the grinding time as required during the next few grinds. A coarser
grind can be compensated by using more ground coffee or by tamping harder.
