  • Page 20 Hardware Setup Hardware Setup CPU & Cooler Installation When nstallng a CPU, always remember to nstall a CPU cooler. A CPU cooler s necessary to prevent overheatng and mantan system stablty. Follow the steps below to ensure correct CPU and CPU cooler nstallaton. Wrong nstallaton can damage both the CPU and the manboard.
  • Page 21 MS-S0221 MS-S0221 5. Line up the CPU to fit the CPU socket. Be sure to hold the CPU by the base with the metal contacts facing downward. The alignment keys on the CPU will line up with the edges of the CPU socket to ensure a correct fit.

    MS-S0221 MS-S0221 Memory These DIMM slots are ntended for memory modules. DIMM8 DIMM7 DIMM6 DIMM5 DIMM4 DIMM3 DIMM2 DIMM1 Up to Quad-Channel Mode Ths manboard supports up to four memory channels. Two DIMM slots provde a sngle channel. The memory modules can transmt and receve data wth four data bus channels smultaneously to enhance system performance.
  • Page 24 Hardware Setup Hardware Setup Installing Memory Modules The memory module has only one notch on the center and will only fit in the right orientation. Insert the memory module vertically into the DIMM slot. Then push it in until the golden finger on the memory module is deeply inserted in the DIMM slot. The plastic clip at each side of the DIMM slot will automatically close when the memory module is properly seated.

To connect to the power supply, make sure the plug of the power supply s nserted n the proper orenta- tion and the pins are aligned. Then push down the power supply firmly into the connector.
