    Introduction The HPE FM 3180 fabric module is a 48 port 25 GbE and 8 port 100 GbE fabric module in a 1U form factor that provides 2.0 Tbps Bandwidth, ideally suited for Datacenter top of rack deployments. The FM 3180 supports port level configuration of 48 10 GbE or 25 GbE SFP ports and eight 100 GbE QSFP28 ports.

    For any UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) providing power to an HPE FM 3180 fabric module, HPE recommends the following: • The UPS must have enough capacity to power the fabric module plus any other equipment that is connected to the UPS.

    Part Numbers FM 3180 is available with two AC power supplies. The power supplies can be ordered to exhaust out the back or front panel. FM 3180 is available with hot-swappable fans that either exhaust out the back (power) panel (red) or out the front (I/O) panel (blue).

IMPORTANT: In a mixed configuration, if the fabric contains an FM 2072 or models 1, 2, 2s, 2sp or 2e models that run at 10 Gb/s per port, the FM 3032Q ports must be set to operate at 10/40 Gb/s per port for compatibility.

    You should have the transceivers you ordered for your HPE fabric module. The FM 3180 supports Quad Small Form-Factor Pluggable (QSFP28) transceivers in QSFP ports 49-56. Important: Fiber optic modules are dust-sensitive. Always keep the plug in the optical bore when a fiber optic cable is not installed or when you store the module.

These QSFP28 ports can remain single 100 GbE ports or they can break out into four 25 GbE SFP ports per QSFP282 port.
