P 700 T Device description The P 700 T hand lever test pump by SIKA is used for generating pressure for inspection, ad- justment or calibration of pressure sensors, pressure gauges, pressure switches and pres- sure measuring devices of all kinds.
  • Page 5  Use the type plate to check if the delivered unit corresponds to your order.  Please note when using the P 700 T that the reservoir is already filled with oil at the factory ( § 4 + § 7).
  • Page 6: Intended Use

P 700 T 1.2 Intended use The P 700 T can only be used for generating pressure in low-volume measuring devices. The device is only designed for use with hydraulic oil, other media will result in damage to the P 700 T.
  • Page 7 Safety instructions Qualified personnel: The personnel who are charged for the installation and operation of the P 700 T must hold a relevant qualification. This can be based on training or relevant tuition. The personnel must be aware of this operating manual and have access to it at all times.

In the case of correct ventilation, this quickly leads to an increase in pressure. The construc- tion of the P 700 T means that the same pressure is generated for the test sample as for the reference.
  • Page 9: Important Notes On Pressure Fluctuations

P 700 T Construction and function 3.1 Important notes on pressure fluctuations It is completely normal that the pressure is not constant from the start. In the event of changes to the pressure in the measurement setup, it always takes a few minutes until the pressure stabilises.
  • Page 10: Commissioning With Ventilation

 Never use the P 700 T if you have found any damage. Return the device immediately to the manufacturer for repair. The P 700 T can be put immediately into operation, as it has already been filled with hydraulic oil at the factory. You find further information in § 7 "Replace oil".

Operation CAUTION! Material damage to valve stop! If the stop and the P 700 T are put under too much strain, they will be damaged.  When the stop has been reached, tighten the valves (fine adjustment and pressure relief valve) only hand-tight.
  • Page 12: Generating Pressure

P 700 T 5.1 Generating pressure After the commissioning with ventilation, you can generate pressure with the P 700 T. With increasing back-pressure in the system, the pumping becomes more and more difficult. WARING! Risk of injury if maximum pressure is exceeded! Observe the maximum permissible pressures of the individual components in the meas- urement setup.
  • Page 13: Pressure Measurements

For adjustments, calibrations or an inspection of accuracy, it is vital that the test sample and the reference have the same pressure. The pressure needed for the test points is built up and adjusted with the P 700 T ( § 5.1). Wait for pressure stabilisation! After pressure changes with the P 700 T, it takes a few minutes for the pressure in the measurement setup to stabilise (...
  • Page 14: Releasing Pressure

P 700 T 5.3 Releasing pressure Once the pressure measurements have been completed, the positive pressure in the P 700 T, the test sample and in the pressure line need to be brought into balance CAUTION! Risk of injury in the case of excessive pressure! Do not remove any connected components (test sample, pressure hose, reference) if the P 700 T is under pressure.
  • Page 15: Problems

Problems CAUTION! Material damage! The P 700 T cannot be repaired by the user! In case of a defect, the device must be re- turned to the manufacturer for repair.  Never open the P 700 T and perform any repair yourself.
  • Page 16: Maintenance / Cleaning, Storage And Transport

Except for the seals / O-rings and the oil, the P 700 T is maintenance-free and cannot be re- paired by the user. In case of a defect, the P 700 T must be returned to the manufacturer for repair.
  • Page 17 For storage and transportation we recommend our transportation case, which is available as an accessory. Only carry the P 700 T on the hand lever, the reservoir or the base plate. Hoses or other com- ponents are not suitable for this purpose.
  • Page 18: Disassembly And Disposal

 Drain the P 700 T if there is still medium in the reservoir. Disposal P 700 T: IMPORTANT! No household waste! The P 700 T consists of various different materials. It should not be disposed of with household waste.  Take the P 700 T to your local recycling plant ...
