Testing a Mother Transmitter
®
The Safe Place System includes a Transmitter Tester to be used when checking the
operation of each Mother Transmitter. If the Mother Transmitter is operating properly, the
Transmitter Tester will detect its signal, the indicator light will flash, and a tone will sound.
To test a Mother Transmitter
1 Place the Transmitter Tester directly on the Mother Transmitter.
2 Press and hold the button on the left side of the Transmitter Tester. The
device will beep once when you press the button.
If the Mother Transmitter is working properly, the indicator light flashes
and a tone sounds once every 15 seconds. Wait for the flash of the
indicator light and the tone from the Transmitter Tester to verify that the
Mother Transmitter is functioning.
3 If the Mother Transmitter fails this test, check the battery in the device.
The Transmitter Tester requires a 9V battery.
4 Retest the Mother Transmitter. If it fails a second time, replace the
Transmitter.
