TYPICAL FREQUENCY RESPONSE
This Shure microphone can be used for karaoke, sound reinforce-
ment, or recording. Its wide frequency response and high output
make vocal performances sound clear and vibrant. It is also suitable
for instrument pickup.

CONNECTING AND DISCONNECTING THE MICROPHONE
CABLE
1.
Insert the XLR connector into the microphone as shown in Fig-
ure 1. If necessary, rotate the connector to align the key on the
connector and the groove in the microphone. Push the connec-
tor into the microphone until it clicks.
2.
To disconnect the cable and microphone, grasp the connector
while depressing the tab. See Figure 1. Pull the connector away
from the microphone.
MICROPHONE USE
1.
Turn on the microphone by sliding the switch to "ON". Turn off
the microphone by sliding the switch to "OFF". Keep the switch
in the "OFF" position while connecting or disconnecting the
microphone from a karaoke machine, mixer or tape recorder.
2.
Hold the microphone by its handle. Avoid holding the micro-
phone grille. See Figure 2.

Position the microphone grille one to two inches (2 to 5 cm)
away from the mouth. Move farther away from the microphone
to produce a more balanced, natural sound. Move closer to the
microphone to enhance low-frequency response.

To minimize the chance of feedback (a loud howling or squeal-
ing noise), position the microphone beside or behind loud-
speakers. See Figure 3.
