- Page 4 3. Before making coffee for the first time, wash the Brew Basket, Brew Basket Cover, Percolator Tube and Lid in warm soapy water. Rinse and dry. 4. Fill the Percolator with 500ml (2 cups) of cold tap water and bring to a boil. Add 500 ml (2 cups) of white vinegar and let stand for at least 1 hour or overnight.

The Green Ready I ndicator Light will remain on and keep the coffee hot, as long as the Base is plugged into the outlet.
