MAX31782 EV Kit Quick Start Guide
Thank you for evaluating the MAX31782 system management microcontroller. The first step in
evaluating the MAX31782 is to setup and run the demonstration. When you are ready to begin
developing your own firmware, additional tutorials will guide you through the installation and use
of IAR Embedded Workbench. The included CD-ROM contains all of the files necessary to use
the MAX31782 EV Kit. As these files may change, please check our ftp site for any updates to
these files.

Equipment Needed:
3.3V or 5.0V DC Power Supply
•
12V (500mA) DC Power Supply [not required if fan operation is not needed]
•
PC (Windows 2000 / XP / 7 operating system) with an available USB and serial port
•

- Page 2 User Note: The DS3900 is the small daughter card located on top left of the EV kit. It converts USB to I2C and allows the GUI to communicate to the MAX31782. It is important to install the device driver prior to connecting it to the PC the very first time.
