3 Operating
3.2 Connecting to the app
Make sure, sleep monitor and your smartphone are switched on and
Bluetooth
®
is
activated on your smartphone. Start the
app and connect your smartphone with the
Sleepace Sleep Monitor. You need to create an user account upon first start. Follow
the instructions given by the app to start the sleep recording. The monitor only has to
be activated via the app before you go to bed. It is not necessary to have a
Bluetooth
®
connection to your smartphone during your sleep. Then you can fall asleep. During short
interruptions of sleep (e.g. going to the bathroom) the device keeps on recording. If
longer interruptions (more than 60 minutes) occur, the device will stop the recording
process and switch itself off. You may have to re-activate it then.
After awakening, you can stop the recording via the app and therewith switch the device
off. The recorded data will automatically be transferred to the app. The device will also
switch off automatically after 60 minutes of non-usage. Connect the app with the monitor
again to read out the recorded data. You now may check the recorded data in the app or
recall historical data then. The app offers various possibilities for evaluating your sleep
quality, e.g. the recording of your heart and respiratory frequency, movements during
sleep and sleep duration etc.
3.3 Sources of error
If the sleep recording was not successful or the device cannot be used correctly, dif-
ferent reasons may be the source of the error. The following list shows some of these
sources of error - if you cannot solve the problem with this list, please contact the custo-
mer service.
Error: No connection between sleep monitor and app.
Solution: Make sure, that the battery is fully charged, that the distance between device
and your smartphone is less than 10 meters and that
Bluetooth
®
and sleep monitor are
active.
Error: You cannot check last night's recordings.
Solution: Probably no
Bluetooth
®
connection was established or the recording was not
started correctly via the app (touch „Start").
Error: Signals are still being monitored although nobody is lying on the bed.
Solution: The device receives other signals. Make sure, that the surrounding area of
the device is free of devices, which emit vibrations (like e.g. washing machines or fans).
Position the sleep monitor correctly in the height of your chest between mattress and
sheet (and not in height of your shoulders or hips or on the sheet).
Error: You cannot create an user account within the app.
Solution: To crearte an user account, your smartphone needs to be connected to the
Internet.
