Remove retaining ring from pivot pin in head-
load solenoid plunger and slide pivot pin out of
plunger.

Disconnect the spring attached to the cartridge
door opener and remove the air baffle mounted
between actuator and shroud. Remove the disk
guide located adjacent to the actuator assembly.
7.
Remove tachometer bracket mounting screws to
unfasten tachometer assembly from actuator
assembly.
8.
Removethe five socket head mounting screws
which secure the actuator assembly to the
base plate.
9.
Lift carriage drive assembly vertically off the
two dowel pins in carriage mounting base, and
the single dowel pin on tachometer mounting
bracket.

CAUTION: Ensure that correct leads are matched
for terminals of the tachometer assembly and voice
coil after replacing the actuator. Reversal of

these leads would cause uncontrolled carriage
motion resulting in damage to equipment.

10. Replace actuator assembly by reversing steps 2
through 10. Check head load adjustment and
readjust
if
necessary (see Section 7.8.2).
7.6 DRNE MAGNET
7.6.1 Drive Magnet Removal and Replacement
1.
Turn off all power to the machine.
2.
Push the carriage forward as far as
it
will
extend.
3.
Remove the three binding-head mounting screws.
NOTE: Access can be gained to the screws nearest
the electronics gate by opening gate and removing
filter from gate.
