3) Operating Principle
Depending on how the sensors are connected to the transistors and which motor is driven by
which transistor, there are four basic control and circuit variants, which are shown on the
following pages.
• Acceleration mode / Shadow Follower
• Acceleration mode / Light Follower
• Braking mode / Shadow Follower
• Braking mode / Light Follower
All other features of the 12 functions are set by aligning the sensors.
The obliquely drawn connections represent the blue cable bridges between the sensors and the
transistors.
The two LEDs are connected in series with the resistor and arranged between the transistors. In
Acceleration mode they light up when the current flows through both transistors. In Braking
mode they light up when the current flows through the motors in the other direction, as long
as they stand still.
