    Introduction Your new Microlife Monitor is a high quality medical device that measures your maximum possible exhalation which is called «peak flow» (referred to in medical terms as PEF - Peak Expiratory Flow). Regular monitoring of your peak flow is extremely useful for controlling diseases of the airways such as asthma or chronic bronchitis.

    3.1. Inserting the Batteries Please open the Battery Compartment from underneath and insert the two batteries (1.5 V, size AAA). Please watch the polarity as indicated by the symbols in the compartment. 3.2. Setting Date and Time The monitor automatically records the time and date of each measurement.
  • Page 7 Press the time switch again to confirm the year setting and move to the month setting. The month digits blink. The current month can now be entered by pressing the arrow button.   • Page 9 A long beep confirms that the result is recorded. The peak flow value is displayed for about 3 seconds, then the FEV is shown. Afterwards the monitor is ready for a new measurement which is indicated by two short beeps. It is recommended to perform three or more measurements sequentially.

    Après l’indication du débit de pointe, une autre valeur (volume expiré forcé - ) s’affiche. Cette valeur est également intéressante pour votre médecin. Vous pouvez effectuer les mesures vous-même, car le moniteur Microlife est très facile à utiliser. Il convient aussi bien aux enfants en phase pré-scolaire qu’aux personnes âgées.

    Sie die Werte nicht zu notieren; nehmen Sie das Gerät einfach mit zu Ihrem nächsten Arztbesuch. Das Gerät kann an einen Computer angeschlossen werden und die Werte lassen sich sehr einfach mit dem entsprechenden Microlife Softwareprogramm analysieren. Lesen Sie bitte vor Gebrauch des Gerätes diese Anleitung genau durch und bewahren Sie sie an einem sicheren Ort auf.

    3.1. Einsetzen der Batterien Öffnen Sie bitte das Batteriefach von unten und legen Sie die zwei Batterien ein (1.5 V, Grösse AAA). Bitte beachten Sie die Polarität entsprechend der in dem Fach angezeigten Symbole. 3.2. Einstellen von Datum und Zeit Der Monitor speichert automatisch Zeit und Datum jeder Messung.

    Ein langer Piepton bestätigt, dass das Ergebnis ermittelt wurde. Es wird etwa 3 Sekunden lang angezeigt; dann wird der FEV angezeigt. Danach ist der Monitor wieder für eine neue Messung bereit, was durch zwei kurze Pieptöne angezeigt wird. Es wird empfohlen, 3 oder mehr Messungen hintereinander durchzuführen.
