Host-based multipath software should be used in any configuration where two logical paths between the host and any storage volume may exist at the same time.

Such cables are also used for connecting a local storage system to a remote storage system via a switch, to facilitate use of the optional AssuredRemote replication feature.

If you encounter problems communicating with the port after cabling your computer to the USB device, you may need to either download a device driver (Windows), or set appropriate parameters via an operating system command (Linux).
