Inserting punctuation symbols and special characters
Press 1 to add a punctuation symbol. The phone tries to predict the correct
symbol. To change the symbol (when the symbol is highlighted), press
<asterisk> repeatedly until the desired symbol appears.
To insert another symbol or special character, press and hold <asterisk>
to enter the list of special characters. Then scroll to the character you
want to use and press OK.
Deleting characters and words
Press Clear to delete the character to the left of the cursor.
To delete the highlighted word, press <pound> first and then press Clear.
When the cursor is between two words, press <pound> first and then
press Clear to delete the preceding word.
Changing character case
Press <pound> once to change the character case (when the cursor is
next to a word or within a word).
Adding a new word to the dictionary
If you try to write a word that does not exist in the dictionary, the phone
prompts you to enter the traditional text input.
1 Press Insert to enter the traditional text input.
Tip: You can also enter the traditional text input in order to insert or
edit a word by selecting the option Insert/edit word.
Tip: You can also enter the traditional text input by pressing <pound>
once after a space. Note that if you press <pound> when next to a
word or when within a word, the character case is changed.
2 Enter the word as described in "Using number keys to enter letters &
numbers" and press OK.
The word is added to the dictionary and to the message you are
writing, and you return to the predictive text input.
