Using SMART Recorder with SMART Audio

You can use SMART Audio with SMART Recorder to record lesson directions, classroom discussions and student
assessments. Before you begin, ensure that the receiver and computer are set up properly. A simple wired setup is
required for recording. For more information about the setup, visit

1 Press the SMART Board icon
2 Select the appropriate recording option from the Record button drop-down
list:
Record Desktop (Default) - Record audio from the microphones along
with every action you perform on your desktop.
Record Area - Record audio from the microphones along with any actions
taken within an area of the screen that you select prior to beginning the
recording.
Record Window - Record audio from the microphones along with any
actions taken within a specific window that you select prior to beginning
the recording.

: If you only want to record audio, select Record Area. When you select an area of the screen to record, click

and drag the cursor to select a small rectangle on your screen and release. This minimizes the size of the file
because you are not recording unnecessary visual components.
3 When you finish your recording, click Stop
4 Browse to the location where you want to save your recording
5 Type a name for the file in the File name box
6 Click Save. The Recording Complete dialog box will appear.
7 Click OK

: If the battery indicator light on either the teacher or student handheld microphone is red, the batteries in the
OTE
microphone should be charged or replaced.

in the Windows Notification Area and select Recorder... from the list
