7. Continue to cut more into the tree until the tree/
branch bends and the tension is released.
8. Cut the tree/branch from the opposite side of the
bend, after the tension is released.
To use the product in cold weather
CAUTION: Snow and cold weather can
cause operation problems. Risk of too low
engine temperature or ice on the air filter
and the carburetor.
1. In temperatures below 0°C/32°F, move the plug from
position 1 to position 2.

2. For temperatures below -5°C/23°F or in conditions
with snow, a winter cover is available. Assemble the
winter cover on the starter housing. The winter cover
decreases the flow of cool air and keeps snow away
from the carburetor space.
CAUTION: Remove the winter cover if the
temperature increases above -5°C/23°F. Put
the winter plug in in position 1 if the
temperature increases above 0°C/32°F. Risk
of too high engine temperature and damage
to the engine.
Heated handles (543 XPG)
On models with the designation "G", the front and rear
handles have electrical heating coils. A generator
supplies power to the heating coils.
Push the switch to engage the heat in the handles. The
heat is on when you can see the red mark on the switch.
Electrical carburetor heating (543 XPG)
Adjustment of the carburetor heating is done electrically
through a thermostat. This keeps the correct carburetor
temperature and prevents ice in the carburetor.
