I need help with my Model 3 unit, and I don't know where to turn. It's next to impossible to get hot water for a shower, unless the water flow is so low that it's aggravating to try and take a shower. I have no idea how to operate the unit -- the instructions in the manual are too vague and ambiguous to be useful. Worst of all, I was told that Heatworks went bankrupt and is no longer in business so there is no one in existence who is knowledgeable about the unit or how it operates, let along to come out to my house and inspect it and service it if it is not working properly, or to adjust it, or fix it, or show me how to use it properly. I had such high hopes when I first bought the unit, and now it is not performing up to my expectations. I **** so aggravated I **** ready to plant a bomb under my house and blow the whole ediface to smithereens. I have invested over $320,000 in improving my house, above the investment to purchase it, and now, thanks to this ill-functioning device I consider my house worthless. Anyone who visits complains endlessly about this one thing -- the shower does not deliver hot water, and even when it gives halfheartedly lukewarm water (enough to be tolerably not cold), the water pressure is so low that you can't wash your hair. And after a few minutes, the hot water runs out. I thought that wasn't supposed to happen with a "tankless" water heater -- there's no "tank" to "run out" of hot water. So, why does the hot water run out and turn ice cold after a few minutes? I **** so frustrated. I don't even know if an analog human being will even read this message. My son told me Heatworks filed for Bankruptcy and went out of business so there's no way I can get service or repairs from anyone knowledgeable about the device. I didn't sign up for the app (I didn't even know that was a "thing" you could do) or register my purchase because I bought it, and then it was over two years before the contractor was even ready to install it so no one even opened the box to read the instructions. I certainly didn't read the manual -- I gave the contractor the manual and relied on him to know what to do. So, I only just noticed the "registration" instruction, four or five years after my purchase. We've been muddling along for a year with this problem, and it's just about reaching the breaking point for me. Everyone is pressing on me to rip it out and put in a more reliable, an easier to use product, and I don't want to. For starters, to tear it up and open up the walls and re-do the plumbing, and re-do the tile and the shower and everything -- I can envision it costing me $150,000 to replace the Model 3 with a rival product that will only cost $500. Is there anyone who can help me? I **** at my wits end here.

To troubleshoot the Heatworks Model 3 tankless water heater and improve hot water flow and temperature, follow these steps:

1. Check Water Connections – Inspect the COLD | INLET and HOT | OUTLET connections for any signs of damage, cracks, leakage, or weakness. Address any issues found.

2. Inspect the Filter Screen – Periodically disconnect the COLD | INLET connection and check the filter screen for debris that may be restricting water flow. Clean if necessary.

3. Purge Air from the Lines – Before powering up the unit, purge air from the water lines to prevent damage and ensure proper water flow.

4. Adjust Set Point Temperature – Use the unit's menu settings to check and adjust the set point temperature (green dot) to the desired level.

5. Check Water Flow Rate – Verify the water flow rate (blue dot) in gallons per minute (GPM) to ensure it is adequate.

6. Monitor Error Codes – Check for any error codes (red dot) displayed on the unit. If errors appear, follow troubleshooting steps based on the specific code.

7. Avoid Over-Tightening Connections – Over-tightening the water heater connections can cause internal damage, affecting performance.

8. Connect to Wi-Fi for Updates – If possible, connect the unit to Wi-Fi to receive firmware updates and access advanced reporting features.

Following these steps should help improve the water flow and temperature of your Heatworks Model 3.
