Optical waveguide

Assembly instructions for the connector Z1000
Assembled view
Pay attention during the stripping and installation, that
l
the light guide must not be kinked
l
the bending radius of the cable must not be tighter than 30mm

Prepare cable ends

l
First strip off the outer cable sheath (1) of the optical waveguide Z1101 by approx. 33 mm and cut the strain relief (yellow)
back to the start of the outer cable sheath,
by using a sharp edge cutter.
l
Cut the black fibre cover (2) by approx. 8 mm.
The plastic fibre (3) must not be hurt! Damaged fibres cause increased cable attenuation.

Assemble connectors

l
Put the connector body (4) as far as it will go onto the fibre. The fibre must protrude from the connector guide by approx.
2 mm, so that any cracks present in the fibre end face are located outside the connector and can be removed by abrasion.
l
To secure the connector insert the clip (5) into the connector body and press it in without canting.
