HANDLING, SERVICE & MAINTENANCE
Depending on various flight operations, your local Government
Aviation Agency may require additional service, inspections, or
tests. For these regulatory requirements, owners should check with
local aviation officials where the airplane is being operated.
For
quick and
ready reference,
quantities,
materials and
specifications for frequently used service items are as follows.
OIL
OIL SPECIFICATION
MIL-L-6082 Aviation Grade Straight Mineral Oil: Used when
the
airplane was delivered from the factory and should be used to
replenish the supply during the first 25 hours. This oil should be
drained and filter replaced after the first 25 hours of operation. Refill
the engine and continue to use until a total of 50 hours has
accumulated or oil consumption has stabilized.

Dispersant
Oil:
Oil
conforming to Textron Lycoming Service Instruction No. 1014, and
all revision and supplements thereto, must be used after first 50
hours, or when oil consumption has stabilized.
RECOMMENDED VISCOSITY FOR TEMPERATURE RANGE
Multiviscosity or straight grade oil may be used throughout
the
year
for engine
lubrication. Refer
to
the following table for
temperature verses viscosity ranges.
