This table provides some keyboard shortcuts specific to Windows 8.1 and Windows RT. These keyboard shortcuts are in addition to the
keyboard shortcuts that are already available in earlier versions of the Windows.

Customizing your keyboard

You can customize your keyboard as follows:
32 Using your computer
Open the System Properties dialog box.
Search your computer.
Zoom in to a large number of items on the screen such as apps
pinned on the Start screen.
Zoom out of a large number of items on the screen such as apps
pinned on the Start screen.
Open the charms sidebar.
Open the Search charm to search files on your computer.
Open the Search charm.
Open the Settings charm.
Switch between the main app and snapped app.
Open the Devices charm.
Lock the screen orientation (portrait or landscape).
Open the Search charm to search apps on your computer.
Open the Search charm to search computer settings controls on
your computer.
Displays the options available in the app.
Switch input language and keyboard layout.
Switch to a previously selected input language and keyboard layout.
Cycles through open apps while displaying them in a vertical sidebar
at the left side of the screen.
Displays the sidebar of open apps and keeps the sidebar on screen
even after you release the keys. You can then navigate through
open apps using the up/down arrow keys.
Snap an app to the left.
Cycle through open apps.
