The Thermasan option is a model BLT-200
with an OFF-ON switch that also acts as
dimmer control for three signal lights: The
green ready light indicates that the system is
on. The red reaction light shows when the
pump is moving wastes through the connect¬
ing lines to the hot exhaust. The white empty
bulb will light when the holding tank is
empty.
You may test your Thermasan to see if it is
moving wastes anytime you desire by pushing
the small black button located beneath the
three operation lights. Press the button and
hold it in at least 30 seconds to see if the red
and green lights are slowly flashing, indicating
that the pump is operating properly. If the
lights do not flash check your electrical
disconnect coupling at the trailer hitch.
Each time you hitch or unhitch remember to
insert or remove the Thermasan connections.
The fluid coupling is disconnected by pushing
the slip ring towards the trailer and removing
the trailer portion.
Operation:
Switch your Thermasan control to the "ON"
position; the green light will glow indicating
that the system is ready.
As the speed of your vehicle reaches thirty
plus miles per hour and the engine exhaust
reaches proper temperature for waste des¬
truction, the pump is actuated to withdraw
the wastes from the holding tank and transfer
it through the connection system into the
exhaust. The red reaction light signals that
wastes are moving through the lines and being
destroyed in a harmless emission that com¬
plies with Federal Register, Volume 33, No.
108, Par. 2 and National Sanitation Founda¬
tion Standard No. 24 at the rate of 3 gallons
per hour.
When on a vacation or trip, operate the unit
some each traveling day. Occasional draining
of your holding tank by conventional sewer
hookup is recommended to remove any for¬
eign particles or other insoluble matter.
You may overcome this by using a recreation¬
al vehicle holding tank anti-freeze (Glycol
base). Do not use Kerosene.
Chemical Treatment:
With a Thermasan installed on your Air-
stream, use more water for flushing. With
more water mixed with wastes, there is less
possibility of exhaust odors. Strong exhaust
odors do not mean that the Thermasan is
operating
improperly
but
indicates
that
chemical treatment is required. Recommend¬
ed treatment is:
1. Pour one bottle of Thermasan chemical
(available at Wally Byam Stores) into an
empty or full holding tank through the
toilet bowl.
2. Add one-half of a bottle after every four
days of toilet operation.
Frozen waste lines or a frozen holding tank
will not allow the system to destroy waste.
