12. Adjusting The Sound Volume

You can adjust the sound volume either via the keyboard attached to the PC or the "Volume Control
Slider" to be shown on the display.
The volume levels set via the keyboard and the volume control slider are interactive. The maximum
volume that can be set via the keyboard is limited to the value set via the volume control slider.

Adjusting The Volume Via The Keyboard

Adjust the volume to a desired level by pressing [F8] or [F9] while holding [Fn].
[F8] decreases and [F9] increases the volume.
The volume level indicator appears at the bottom of the screen while you are adjusting the volume.
Critical Point
If no sound is made after volume adjustment via the keyboard and/or the volume control slider,
check the status of the loudspeakers. Every time you press [F3] with [Fn], the loudspeakers are
switched on and off. When they are on, they generate a beep and the screen shows the volume
level indicator. When off, the screen shows an indication of "Mute".
The volume level indicator appears only when the "Power Management Properties" dialog box
include the "BATTERYAID (2/2)" tab.
Adjusting The Volume Via The Volume Control Slider Shown On The Display
If the volume level is too high or too low even after adjusting via the keyboard, then you should use
the volume control slider for further adjustment.

Click on the speaker icon on the task bar.
The screen shows a display for volume level setting.

Drag the volume control slider upward/downward to adjust the volume level appropriate.

Drag it downward to lower the volume level and upward to make it higher.

Click on a point on the screen where nothing is displayed.
The volume control slider display disappears.
Otherwise, click on the volume control slider then a point where nothing is displayed.
Volume Setting
To set the balance, volume level, etc. with regard to the voice input function, use the "Master
Volume" dialog box.
To shown the "Master Volume" dialog box, double-click the speaker icon on the task bar.
