Laser Safety
Measuring laser always on IEC60825-1 class 1M laser
A class 1M laser is safe for all conditions of use except when passed through magnifying optics. This
means the maximum permissible exposure cannot be exceeded when viewing the laser with the naked
eye without the aid of magnifying optics.
Red pointing laser intermittent IEC80825-1 class 3R laser
Laser comes on at power up for 2 minutes, it can be turned back on for commissioning using the
LCD2 communications and configuration device.
A class 3R laser is considered safe if handled carefully, with restricted beam viewing. With a class 3R
laser the maximum permissible exposure can be exceeded when viewing the laser with the naked eye,
but with a low risk of injury.
