Make sure all attaching hardware is tightened securely
on the leg rest, armrest, front wheel, frame, front
fork and front/rear wheel supports (center of gravity),
folding mechanism, backrest. If you find anything
wrong, have your wheelchair checked immediately by a
qualified technician/dealer.
Inspect/Adjust weekly
q
Ensure that the wheel locks prevent the wheelchair
from moving when engaged.
q
Inspect tires and casters for flat spots, cracks or wear.
Replace if necessary.
q
Inspect rear wheels for cracks in the rim or cracked or
broken spokes. Replace if necessary.
q
Inspect axle assembly for proper tension by spinning
caster. Caster should come to a gradual stop.
q
Inspect front caster for cracked, bent or broken spokes.

Inspect /Adjust monthly
q
Ensure that the wheelchair rolls straight (no excessive
drag or pull to one side).
q
Check that the wheel locks DO NOT interfere with tires
when rolling.
q
Check that the wheel lock pivot points are free of wear
and looseness.
q
Inspect seat and back for loose or broken hardware.
q
Inspect seat positioning strap for any signs of wear.
Ensure buckle latches. Verify hardware that attaches
strap to frame is secure and undamaged. Replace if
necessary.
q
Inspect back cane hand grips for wear/looseness/de-
terioration.
q
Adjust front casters/forks bearing system if wheel
wobbles noticeably or binds to a stop.
q
Ensure wheel bearings are clean and free of moisture.
q
Check headtube locknuts for tightness.
Inspect/Adjust periodically
q
Inspect frame and folding mechanism for loose or
missing hardware.
q
Inspect for bent frame or folding mechanism.
q
Check that wheel locks are easy to engage.
q
Inspect seat and backs for rips and sagging.
q
Check that there is no excessive side movement or
binding in the rear wheels when lifted and spun.
q
Inspect handrims for signs of rough edges.
q
Adjust front casters/forks bearing system if wheel
wobbles noticeably or binds to a stop.
q
Ensure wheel bearings are clean and free of moisture.
q
Inspect tires and casters for flat spots, cracks or wear.
Replace if necessary.
